Kid Logic

September 22, 2009

This morning Sophia woke up early enough that I could do a little special something for breakfast.  I asked her if she would like to stop by Dunkin’ Donuts.  She responded with an eager yes, then after about a half second, she asked if we could go to a different doughnut shop instead.

Imagine if the Food Network did a show called “Pimp My Doughnut.”  That is what this shop is like.

Cake doughnuts are made fresh for you when you place your order.  They are then dipped in a flavored glaze and one or more toppings before being placed in a box.  When you go to eat them, they are warm,  gooey, and super scrumptious.   Some of our favorite creations are Rolo (caramel glaze with mini chocolate chips), French Toast (maple glaze with cinnamon sugar), Death by Chocolate (chocolate glaze with mini chocolate chips), and Strawberry Shortcake (strawberry glaze with graham cracker crumbs & powdered sugar).

As we are leaving the store with our doughnuts, Sophia (who is ridiculously excited and practically bouncing over to the car) says, “I’m gonna wear this outfit the next time we come here.  Then they’ll say, ‘I remember that girl… she’s the one we gave all the yummy stuff to!”
