Menu Plan Monday: July 27 – August 2, 2009

July 27, 2009

Comments on last week’s menu: The sour cream bacon chicken was quite good.  Definitely a keeper!  The Cherry Cola Brownies were disappointing — not enough cherry flavor (none at all, to be honest) and the icing was overpoweringly sweet.  Giada’s Chicken Carbonara was very good — different from the recipe I used to have but with about the same results.  I think I probably would have used slightly more cheese than the recipe called for.

On to this week:

Monday — Ravioli and Italian sausages, Caesar salad, garlic bread.

Tuesday — Setting up the crock pot with To Die For Pot Roast and serving it with crash hot potatoes (I forgot to make them last week) and mixed veggies.

Wednesday — we have VBS at 6:00 and cell group at 6:30.  Dinner will be simple and rushed…. probably something along the lines of a trip through the McDonald’s drive through.  I am once again providing dessert for cell group, though, so I will prepare a Lemon Mousse Cake.

Thursday — I am making Bacon Cheeseburger Meat Loaf — one for us, and one for friends of our who have recently brought home a new baby.  Sides are mashed potatoes and green beans.

Friday — Family movie night!  A VBS function pre-empted last week’s plans for movie night, so National Velvet is back on the schedule this week.

Saturday Crock Pot pork roast with gravy, served with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes.

Sunday — leftovers or snacking.

  1. Have you tried the roast before? The recipe looks so easy.

  2. the to die for pot roast

  3. The crash hot potatoes look amazing! I just bookmarked the recipe 🙂

  4. Thanks for the reminder about crash hot potatoes last week! The night our furnace was being replaced we were grilling meat outdoors and had cooked potatoes all ready for crashing! Yummmm.
