Out of the mouths of babes…January 23, 2009
A few nights ago, the four of us sat down between dinner and bedtime to play a game of Pictionary Jr. It was girls versus boys — Sophia and I on one team, Dan and Trevor on the other.
The last clue that Dan had to draw was “throw up.” He drew a stick figure throwing a ball up into the air. Trevor guessed “throw,” but when he couldn’t get the second part of the clue, Dan decided to draw lines coming out of the stick figure’s mouth. When Trevor realized his dad had just drawn a picture of someone throwing up, he fell into a fit of laughter. Then Dan started laughing too, because apparently there are few things as funny as vomit.
Sophia and I watched the guys acting so silly and laughing about something that we didn’t find the least bit funny. The look of concentration on her face was intense as she tried to figure out what they were laughing about. She just didn’t get it.
She turned to me and whispered, “Boys. They’re SO immature.”
