Menu Plan Monday: November 3-9, 2008

November 2, 2008

Comments on last week’s menu: The Garlic-Lemon green beans with Toasted Bread Crumbs was quite good IMHO, which means you could hardly tell that you were eating green beans.  However, the recipe calls for SIX cloves of garlic, which seemed high to me.  I used four and it was still a bit overpowering.  If I make this again I will use just two or three cloves.   I made spaghetti instead of manicotti due to time constraints, so manicotti will be on the menu this week instead.

Monday — Family movie night, since the last few Fridays have been consumed by other activities. We will have our traditional light fare and watch The Ugly Dachshund.

Tuesday — Election Day.  The kids are out of school and I haven’t yet decided what we will be doing (other than voting, that is!), so I’m going to set up the crockpot just in case.  I’m trying a new recipe — Crockpot Chicken Supreme, which I will serve with rice and broccoli.

Wednesday — We have church activities this evening, so we will have a quick & easy dinner of soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Thursday Meat loaf (new recipe), mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables.

Friday — I’m going out to dinner and a movie with some of my good friends.  Dan and the kids will probably go to Family Night at Sophia’s school or stay here and have a movie night.

Saturday — I’ll make the Turkey Manicotti, but this time I plan to serve it with Caesar salad and garlic bread.

Sunday — leftovers or snacking

  3. Your menu this week sounds really good. And the Garlic Lemon Green Beans with Toasted Bread Crumbs has now been bookmarked. I am going to try that recipe really soon.

  4. We also have a Friday Family Flick at our house. We love it! I’ll have to try that movie. Did you like it? I’ve never heard of it.
