Odd… But I Like It

May 29, 2006

One of our local radio stations has a new format. I don’t know what to call it, but their slogan is, “We play everything.” And boy, do they! Here’s a small sample of what I heard this evening on the way home from a friend’s house:

  • “I’m a Believer” by The Monkees
  • “True Blue” by Madonna
  • “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” by Trace Adkins

Quite diverse, eh? And while normally I’m an orderly sort of person who likes things neatly categorized, I kind of like the unpredictability of this station. If I don’t like the song that’s playing, I can’t change to the next station because I want to hear what they’re going to play next. It’s been fun listening and trying to guess what decade/genre will be played next. You just never know… and therein lies the appeal.

  1. Hey, we have a local station that does that too, and I love it! :o)

  2. We just got a new station like that in my city. I’ve got my husband hooked on it now, too!
