The Adventure Begins
November 13, 2007We had our first Daisy Girl Scout meeting tonight. There were six girls total, which may not seem like much but when you’re talking about five year old girls, it’s plenty! They were just adorable, coloring and chatting away at one table while I did a quick orientation for the parents at another table. I should have taken pictures. (I’m surprised that I didn’t!)
After I talked to the parents and explained to them what the Daisy program is all about, I did some sharing with the girls about the Girl Scout founder, Juliette Gordon Low. We talked about what things they had in common with the founder — they like animals, they have brothers and sisters, etc. Then there was a snack (quite popular!) and we closed with two songs and the friendship squeeze.
The friendship squeeze elicited quite a few giggles and I’m sure it will become a favorite part of the meetings. There was lots of laughter and smiles and I just can’t wait to get to know these girls better.

That would be so fun to host.
I would love to be a cub scout leader or even a Big Brother someday. I don’t know if I could though. Thanks for helping those kids.
sounds like your meeting went fine. I was a girl scout leader for over eight years, from brownies to seniors. My daughter went into band and didnt have time for scouts. At first your nervous, but you get through it fine The longer you do it the easy it get. the girls will tell you if they get bore. Have fun enjoy the years will go so fast
