Works for Me Wednesday: The Table by the Door

I keep a small table (actually, it’s an old TV cart) right next to the front door. It isn’t the prettiest piece of furniture, but oh do I love it. Any time there is something that I need to give someone, I put it on the table.

This means toys that a friend’s child left here, photos for the relatives, coupons I’m passing on… it all goes on that table (in a single layer!) so that as I walk out the door, I can quickly glance at the table and see if there is anything that needs to go to its rightful owner.

It’s been a great help as far as getting things out of the house (always a good thing) and taking the frustration out of having to remember to give So-and-so her whatsit the next time I see her.

  1. What a great idea Julie. There’s nothing so frustrating as being half way to wherever you’re going and then remembering the thing you’d intended to bring with you. Happens to me all the time.
